"Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest."

We are so excited that you have chosen to visit our website, but more importantly that we have the opportunity to introduce you to a group of people who believe in…

REAL HOPE—REAL PEOPLE—REAL WORLD

More than a name over a church door, HFC is a place we’d like you to call your church HOME!  Whether you can attend personally every week or not, we are here for you and look forward to your next visit!

The only people you won’t find at Harvest Fellowship Church are perfect people.  We are real people, just like you, searching for a life of meaning, striving in faith, and finding purpose in everyday life—regardless of the circumstances.

We have all had our share of the “do’s” and don’ts,” but HFC is more about learning the “how to’s,” and finding answers together through a study of God’s whole Word, and the applicable meaning to our daily, real-world lives.

So, take the time to learn About Us.  Listen to Pastor Haney’s insightful Harvest Time messages, and feel free to Contact Us if we can help you in your Christian journey!

While you are here, we would love for you to see the blessing God has granted us!  Our new church facilities have grown and are ready for the Harvest!

Our prayer warriors and weekly volunteers are also a huge blessing!  They keep our praise and sound teams, children and youth groups—and study groups—active, as models of the faith.  We are so grateful to each and every one who helps spread the love of Harvest Fellowship Church!

Be sure to visit our website often, and stay tuned for great things!

SALT OR PEPPER SPRAY?

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?  It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”  Matthew 5:13

Pure salt maintains its flavor.  In Israel, some salt was mixed with other ingredients.  When it was exposed to the elements, the salt would be “leached out.”  Such leached out salt was used for coating pathways.

Salt was a valued item in ancient times.  In fact, part of a soldier’s pay was given in salt.  The words salt and salary are related, hence, the saying, “He’s not worth his salt.”

The Lord is looking for people that are worth their salt!  When we say that someone is “salty,” it means they are good at whatever they do.  Do you have “salt” in your character?  Too many Christians are like pepper spray, repelling others!  The Lord is looking for “salty disciples.”  Salt is a preservative, and God’s people in this world are helping to retard the growth of evil and decay.  Salt is also a purifying agent, an antiseptic that makes things cleaner.  It may sting when it touches the wound, but it helps to kill infection.  Salt gives flavor to things.  Salt betters what it touches, like food.  Salt makes people thirsty.  By our character and conduct in life, we ought to make others thirsty for the Lord Jesus and the salvation that He alone can give.

Lord Jesus, we want to be “salty” for You!  We don’t want to be like pepper spray, repelling others!  Like salt, we want to preserve the world from evil, bring healing, add flavor and make others thirsty for You!  We want to better this world for You!  Amen.

For those of you in our radio listening audience, “Harvest Time” is now a one- hour program, Wednesdays at 2:00 PM.  Please join us on 94.3 FM, The Rock!

Finally, come hear the report of the Lord in a series of messages entitled, “In God We Trust,” every Sunday in January!  These messages will encourage you and challenge you to live by faith in God!  Our obedient faith and trust in God is what overcomes the trials of life!
