During a building project of any kind there seem to be slow times, but capping the sanctuary refueled the zealous fire in us all!

The prayer warriors and financial supporters cheered on toiling laborers as the outside of the facilities were completed and progress began inside.

Man of His Word - Song Written and Sung by Jeremy Dean

Song for Pastor Mark written and sung
by Jeremy Dean

Text Box: WHISTLING!
I’m a substitute school bus driver in my hometown.  Just recently, I had the honor of driving the bus route I rode as a kid when I went to school.  As I was driving and picking up the kids, I began to reminisce about my many school bus experiences.
One of my fondest was when I learned how to whistle!  Not the kind of whistle with your lips puckered, I could already do that one!  I’m talking the one where you put two of your fingers together and place them on your tongue and blow out an extremely loud whistle!  I had an upper classman teach me this whistle.  He was in Junior High, and I was in Elementary.  His name was Lane Broadbent.  His Dad, Billy, was my school bus driver.  Lane was three grades above me in school, so for him to even pay attention to me on the bus was a privilege.  Every day after school for a few weeks, he taught me the basics of the loud whistling technique.  Lane could whistle…I mean really whistle!  He could whistle loud, really loud!  I can remember his Dad getting on to him a few times for whistling too loud on the bus.  When Lane was first teaching me how to whistle, all I could blow out was lots of air and sometimes spit would come flying and drooling out of my mouth and down my fingers.  Whatever I was doing, it wasn’t whistling!  I was frustrated and very embarrassed to say the least!  Here I am, in front of an upper classman trying to whistle, and all I can do is blow air, spit and drool all over myself!  Lane told me not to give up and to keep trying.  He told me I had the basics down, but it was up to me to practice, practice, practice to master the art of whistling.  So, I practiced all of the time!  I practiced so much, my two fingers that I was placing in my mouth looked like a couple of prunes!  Then one day, it happened!  I did it!  I whistled loud, really loud!  I did it again!  Then again and again!  I had it!  I could whistle like Lane!  Finally, I had accomplished something that I had been working so hard for!
Proverbs 24:16 says, “For a righteous person falls seven times and rises again…”  The moral of my whistling story is that God does not create any fallers or failures!  He just creates another opportunity to overcome!  Even if you fell the first time, get back up, dust yourself off, try again, and look for the next opportunity to overcome!  I read a story when Thomas Edison was trying to invent the light bulb and after many failed attempts, someone had told him that he should give up.  By the way, there is always that “someone.”  Thank God Mr. Edison didn’t listen!  He told the person, “Give up?  Why, I’m not giving up!  I’ve came too far to quit now!  I’ve found about a million things that don’t work, but the next one may be the one!”  Now, that’s the kind of attitude we all need to have!  I would’ve loved to have been there and seen that person’s face when Mr. Edison flipped the switch and the light bulb worked!  Thank you Mr. Edison for not giving up!
If you’re thinking of quitting today, don’t give up!  If you have fallen, get back up!  The next attempt may be the one when you start WHISTLING!
